Monday 6th September

Back to school… still haven’t got all the stuff off my hands from decorating at Sylva’s cottage. There was SO MUCH to do, all the walls had holes and bumps in them and EVERYWHERE needed painting. First night we were there Mum said to me “It’s as well your father’s not here, he’d faint dead away at the sight of all this decorating. He does hate it so!”

True! But I got really good at “filling in” where you get this kind of grey toothpastey stuff and put it in holes in the wood and in the walls and smooth it out with something that looks like what Dad uses when he’s doing a Full English Breakfast to get eggs out. Only smaller.

Fred saw my hands and said “Aha! The schoolkeeper’s nightmare – plaster cracks! Been having a working holiday?” so he knew!!

GREAT to see everyone though! Genie had a mega holiday, she went to… mmm, better do some homework…
