Saturday 10th July

Had a FRUS-TRAY-TING last-minute kind of day trying to get things for the school trip… specially needed some waterproof legging things (for canoeing and sailing), an anorak (we’re going on a “yomp” which Uncle Ron said is a big walk like the Royal Marines do) a hat (‘cos of mega-sun and getting sunstroke) and sunblock.

Sunblock was OK, got that spray-on stuff which is nicer than that gloop you get which I hatehatehate! Mum made me make a zillion promises to use it. Whatever!!!!!!!

Anorak OK too ‘cos I’ve already got one but found VERRY old half a Mars bar in one of those inside pockets you forget about, yuk! Mum’s washed it.

But the hat was REALLY difficult – went to ELEVEN shops and hated everything till we saw a neat one with kind of camouflage on it in the party shop… weird!

COULD NOT find any leggings ANYWHERE though! Grrr! Try again tomorrow but don’t know WHERE we’ll find them!!
